Reconstructing the original
The first-ever G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C, came out I 1983, giving the world the concept of a tough timepiece by rewriting the rules of watchmaking. Inheriting this philosophy and design, the G-STEEL GST-B1000 reconstructs the G-SHOCK as a metal timepiece imbued with a contemporary sensibility. Accents in red, blue, and yellow nod to the original G-SHOCK, representing the passion to take on challenges, water resistance, and shock resistance, respectively. The brick pattern and octagonal bezel stay true to the original, while quietly reminding you to live in the here and now.

The result is a design of pared-down beauty, reflected in a case measuring less than 44.2 mm in diameter with an 11.6 mm profile, and a total weight of 118 grams, for a minimalist metal watch that blends seamlessly with any style.

Elegant and strong, with a solid core
Strength is not simply something shown on the outside. The G-SHOCK philosophy — the reverse, internal protection from external impact — informs every aspect of the internal structure of this timepiece. The case is made of carbon fiber-reinforced resin, and urethane buffering components are installed to help absorb impact to where the band and case connect, as well as to increase the strength of the metal band connections. In addition, the use of adhesive glass attachment and a compact module allow for the flexible absorption of external impact and create a form that is strong, lightweight, and slim.
